Is there a drop box?
Yes. Click hereto see the location of the box. Please put your payment check and bill in a sealed envelope. Open the box and slide your envelope through the slot inside the drop box.
Yes. Call the tax office at 717-352-3276, during open hours, and ask to pay by credit card or bank ACH transfer. There is a convenience fee for using these payment methonds.
Can I mail my payment?
Yes. Send (and make payable) to: Kristine Crawford, Tax Collector, P.O. Box 602, Fayetteville PA 17222. Please include a copy of your bill with your check or money order. If you'd like a receipt, enclose both copies of your bill, along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Your payment must be postmarked on/or before the due date, and received in a timely manner, in order to be considered on-time.
Do you collect taxes at other locations?

Why do I get your voicemail, when I call the office?
When voicemail answers your call during normal office hours, we are either with a customer, or on the phone.
When are the tax bills mailed?
The County Property tax bill is mailed March 1, each year. The School Property tax bill is mailed July 1, each year.
For what period does each bill cover?
The County Property tax bill covers January 1 - December 31 of the current year. The School Property tax bill covers July 1 - June 30 of the following year.
What happens if I don't receive a bill?
You are still responsible for making payment. Please call our office as soon as you realize the bill has not arrived. We will provide a copy.
When are the tax bills due?
County Property tax bill: If you would like a 2% discount, please pay on/before April 30. To avoid a 10% penalty, please pay on/before June 30. School Property tax bill: If you would like a 2% discount, please pay on/before August 31. To avoid a 10% penalty, please pay on/before October 31.
How/when does my escrow lender pay my property tax bill?
Some lenders require you (the property owner) to provide them a copy of your tax bill. Once your lender receives the bill, they generally send the payment to the tax office the 3rd weeks of April (for County) and August (for School). Feel free to call the Tax office 717-352-3276 after that to confirm payment.
What is the Homestead/Farmstead Exclusion?
It is a credit available to owners, for the property in which they reside. This credit is applied to the July School Property tax bill. The credit can vary from year to year, based on total amount of funds available for tax relief. Once you are approved, you only need to re-apply if you move. Click here for additional information. What is the Property Tax/rent Rebate program?
Pennsylvania offers this rebate to certain seniors, people with disabilities, and widows/widowers. Eligibility, and amount of rebate, is based on age and income. You will need to submit an application and obtain a signed property tax receipt from your tax collector. A new application must be completed every year before June 30. The deadline is frequently extended, so check dates often, before ruling out your eligibility. You may pick up the booklet at the Guilford tax office, or contact Rep. Rob Kauffman at 166 S. What is an Interim tax bill?
You will receive an interim tax bill when you make certain improvements to your property. These bills are processed quarterly, and are usually not paid by escrow lenders.

Why did I receive an Occupation Tax bill?
* THIS OCCUPATION TAX (for residents of Waynesboro Area School District who work full-time) HAS BEEN ELIMINATED EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2022. NO FUTURE BILLS WILL BE MAILED. * However, if you have prior year tax bills that are UNPAID, you are still responsible for making payment. Those delinquent bills will be mailed from the collection agent JP Harris.
